Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Fresno is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Fresno is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

As soon as I pulled my car up to get an oil change for my Chevy Cruze I was greeted with high energy and friendly professionalism from ALL the employees! They were amazing! They had me and my son wait in the waiting room where they had complimentary sodas, snacks, and coffee. The waiting area was nice and clean! They also had a big screen so you can watch the employees work on your car! The price for my oil change was amazing, NOTHING (LIKE VALVOLINE... They're TERRIBLE AT EVERYTHING) !!!!! But grease monkey did an exceptional job! I will be a regular customer for now on! If u haven't tried them out, I highly recommend you take your car there! Thank u to all the employees at Grease Monkey

Coke Zero !! I was like okay they taking care of me today lol. Matt got me in and was very helpful and took all my information with ease. Answered any questions I had. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great experience at Grease Monkey on Blackstone Ave in Fresno. I came in for an oil change on my Audi Q3 and mentioned that the last place I took it to seemed rushed, so I wasn’t very confident in the service they did. Alex and Marco took that seriously and did a thorough inspection. They ended up finding that the plastic oil drain plug had been damaged from the previous service—something I wasn’t even aware of. They replaced it at no charge and made sure everything was properly taken care of. They also explained their process, including that they typically evacuate oil from the top, but still checked underneath to ensure everything was correct. No upselling, just honest and detailed work. They even had the engine air filter and cabin air filter in stock, which seems like a lot of shops don’t carry. Their prices were very competitive, the service was thorough, and I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. On top of that, they even vacuumed out my car, which was a really nice surprise and not something I expected. Really solid customer service and attention to detail. I’ll definitely be coming back.
